A man was set on fire in a public street in the northern city of Al Hoceima on Tuesday after another individual poured a flammable substance on him and ignited it, the regional prosecutor’s office said in a statement.
According to the same source, the public prosecutor at the Al Hoceima Court of Appeal ordered a judicial investigation to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the incident. The suspect has been placed in police custody pending further inquiries.
The statement added that the victim was transported to the hospital to receive the necessary medical treatment, while authorities continue to gather evidence.
“The appropriate legal measures will be taken once the investigation is complete,” the prosecutor’s office said.
