Morocco’s cosmetics market, valued at $1.82 billion in 2024, is projected to almost double to $3.59 billion by 2032, growing at a compound annual rate of about 7.9%, according to a new study.
The report, published by Maximize Market Research, attributed the growth to rising consumer demand for body sunscreens, lotions and anti-aging creams. The hair care segment is also expected to expand during the forecast period, driven by growing global concern over hair health.
E-commerce, shifting lifestyles, rising disposable incomes and increasing interest in natural products are additional factors likely to fuel market growth.
The report highlighted a strong consumer preference for natural and organic products, influenced by health consciousness, demand for sustainable and eco-friendly items, and the impact of social media and online influencers.
By segment, women are expected to account for about 62% of the Moroccan cosmetics market, supported by rising consumption and the influence of Western lifestyles. Men are projected to represent around 38%, driven by increasing demand for grooming and personal care products.
L’Oréal Maroc remains the country’s largest cosmetics player, with growth underpinned by investments in product innovation, expanded distribution and communication efforts, including its first television advertising campaign in Morocco, the report said.
