Morocco’s Ministry of Health and Social Protection deployed a fully equipped medical aircraft Wednesday to transfer a 3-year-old boy suffering from a rare chronic illness from the provincial hospital in Zagora to the intensive care unit at the University Hospital Center in Rabat.

The child, who had been receiving care in Zagora’s intensive care department, was flown aboard a plane outfitted with advanced medical equipment. The transfer was supervised by a specialized medical team, including an anesthesiologist and a critical care nurse, as well as the boy’s parents, the ministry said.
The operation is part of the ministry’s efforts to ensure critically ill patients in remote regions can access advanced treatment facilities in major hospitals.
