Rabat has launched a free English training program for its taxi drivers in preparation for major international sporting events, including the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations and the 2030 World Cup.

The initiative, overseen by the wilaya of Rabat and the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services, targets roughly 22,000 licensed drivers across both urban and intercity taxis.

Authorities said the program is designed to help drivers communicate with the influx of international visitors expected during these tournaments.

The training will also prioritize drivers working in key areas such as Rabat-Salé airport and the city’s main stadiums.
