Morocco exported nearly 138,000 tons of small citrus fruits to the European Union between October 2024 and July 2025, making it the bloc’s second-largest supplier after South Africa, according to a recent report from the European Commission.

Turkey ranked third with just over 64,000 tons. Moroccan shipments included clementines, tangerines, and small lemons, though exports dipped sharply in July to only 21 tons compared with 2,651 tons in June.

The kingdom also exported 15,424 tons of oranges to the EU over the same period, placing third behind Egypt, with 343,000 tons, and South Africa, with 242,000 tons.

Moroccan orange exports rose steadily during the season, from just 26 tons in October 2024 to almost 4,000 tons in July 2025.
