Morocco’s mobile phone market continued to expand in the first half of 2025, with the number of subscribers reaching 58.8 million, up 3.2% from a year earlier, according to the Directorate of Studies and Financial Forecasts (DEPF).

In its August economic bulletin, the DEPF said the mobile penetration rate stood at 159.5% at the end of June, compared with 152.4% a year earlier and 127.1% in mid-2019. The agency described the figure as a record for this time of year, despite slower growth compared with the 5.2% increase registered in 2024.

Internet subscriptions also advanced, totaling around 41.2 million users at the end of June, a year-on-year rise of 5.2% after growth of 6.9% the previous year. Internet penetration reached 111.8%, compared with 104.8% a year earlier and 66.2% in 2019, underscoring the rapid digital expansion across the kingdom.
