Moroccan international striker Hamza Igamane signed on Thursday with French club Lille (LOSC/Ligue 1) for the next five seasons, joining from Glasgow Rangers, French media report.
After a remarkable season in Scotland, the 22-year-old attacking talent (16 goals and 3 assists in 46 matches) successfully passed the traditional medical examination. He joins Les Dogues in a transfer worth around 12 million euros, according to the same source.
The Moroccan center-forward will strengthen the offensive sector of the northern side, which already includes Olivier Giroud, who arrived this summer, and Matias Fernandez-Pardo. He is also expected to play as a second striker or provide options on the wings, reports add.
A product of AS FAR, with whom he won the Moroccan championship in 2023 and finished runner-up the following year, the Atlas Lion joined Rangers in 2024 on a contract running until 2029.
The Moroccan striker also boasts a U-23 Africa Cup of Nations title, won on home soil in 2023 with the Atlas Cubs.
Igamane has been called up by national coach Walid Regragui for Morocco’s matches against Niger on September 5 in Rabat and Zambia three days later in Lusaka, as part of the African qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.
