Morocco has strengthened its leadership in the British blueberry market, surpassing all European competitors and setting a new export record, according to a report by EastFruit, a platform specializing in agricultural data.
Between July 2024 and June 2025, Moroccan exporters shipped around 19,000 tons of blueberries to the United Kingdom, valued at 144 million US dollars, representing a 44 percent year-on-year increase and double the volume recorded in the 2022/2023 season.
The report noted that Morocco’s blueberry exports to the UK have expanded more than tenfold over the past five seasons.
Official records show the first shipments in 2009, but growth accelerated after Britain’s exit from the European Union, as Moroccan suppliers gained market share from European producers.
The latest figures confirm Morocco’s position as a key supplier to the British market, reflecting both rising demand and the country’s growing competitiveness in high-value agricultural exports.
