On the occasion of Youth Day, His Majesty King Mohammed VI has granted His pardon to 591 individuals convicted by various courts across the Kingdom, the Ministry of Justice announced in a statement.
The beneficiaries of the Royal Pardon who are currently in detention number 445 and are divided as follows:
– 3 inmates have benefited from full pardon over the remaining prison term or confinement.
– 441 inmates had their prison terms or confinement reduced.
– 1 inmate had their life sentence commuted to a fixed-term sentence.
The beneficiaries of the Royal Pardon who are at liberty number 146 and are divided as follows:
– 39 individuals benefited from pardon over their prison term or its remainder.
– 8 individuals had their prison terms pardoned and their fines maintained.
– 91 individuals benefited from pardon over their fines.
– 8 individuals benefited from pardon over both prison and fine sentences.
Royal pardon is customary in Morocco to mark national and religious holidays.
