Morocco’s classified accommodation establishments recorded a 13 percent increase in overnight stays during the first half of 2025 compared with a year earlier, driven by a 16 percent rise in international tourism and a 5 percent increase in domestic demand, the Tourism Observatory said in June statistics.

Tangier led the growth in June with a 24 percent rise in overnight stays, followed by Casablanca (18 percent), Fez (16 percent), Essaouira (14 percent) and Agadir (10 percent). Other destinations also posted gains, including Al Haouz (9 percent), Marrakech (6 percent) and Rabat (5 percent).

Travel revenues in foreign currency surpassed 53.96 billion dirhams in the first six months, up 10 percent year-on-year. Meanwhile, tourist arrivals through border crossings jumped 19 percent to 8.88 million visitors by the end of June.
