The Council of the League of Arab States, meeting at the level of permanent delegates, held an extraordinary session on Sunday in Cairo to examine the situation in the Gaza Strip, with the participation of representatives from Arab countries, including Morocco.
The Moroccan delegation at this meeting, chaired by Jordan, was led by the Kingdom’s Ambassador to Cairo and Permanent Representative of Morocco to the League of Arab States, Mohamed Ait Ouali.
This extraordinary session, convened at the request of the State of Palestine and supported by Arab countries, examined the ongoing Israeli aggression against Palestinian territories and the violations committed against the Palestinian people, particularly in light of the Israeli government’s announcement of its intention to reoccupy the Gaza Strip and take full control of it.
The session concluded with the adoption of a resolution in which the Council condemns and rejects “the decisions and plans of the Israeli government aimed at imposing total military control over the Gaza Strip and displacing the Palestinian people, as well as the Israeli crimes committed against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and the occupied West Bank, including the city of Al-Quds.”
The text emphasizes that these actions constitute a violation of international law and international conventions, and a flagrant aggression against all Arab countries, their national security, and their political and economic interests, noting that this also represents a threat to the security, peace, and stability of the region.
