Morocco’s airports recorded a 16.4% year-on-year increase in passenger traffic during the first quarter of 2025, building on a 13.9% rise a year earlier, according to the latest economic outlook note from the Directorate of Studies and Financial Forecasts .
Seaport passenger volumes also rose, with 720,645 people transiting through Moroccan ports by the end of March, up 3.9% from the same period in 2024. Cruise activity recorded a notable 46.9% jump, reaching 55,668 cruise passengers.
The Directorate further noted a 4% growth in the added value of the transport and storage sector in Q1, following a 6.5% increase the previous year. This performance reflects sustained expansion across the sector’s main segments.
Maritime commercial traffic rose 10.2%, totaling 60.8 million tonnes. Growth was driven by transshipment activity (+12.7%), exports (+13.7%), imports (+2.8%), and coastal shipping (+31.6%).
