Since the beginning of July, Morocco’s national complaints platform “Chikaya.ma” has received 13,217 new submissions against various public institutions, bringing the total number of complaints filed in 2025 to over 91,000, according to official data.
The platform has seen a declining trend in monthly complaints since January, when it recorded 16,443 cases. This figure dropped steadily to 9,783 in June before rising again in July, signaling what appears to be a seasonal “summer surge” in usage.
Public institutions and state-owned enterprises remain the most targeted entities, receiving 6,715 complaints this month, followed by ministries and high commissions with 5,245 cases. Local authorities accounted for 1,276 complaints.
According to the platform’s data, current complaint trends mirror those of the summer of 2024, when digital submissions peaked during the vacation season.
Launched in 2018, “Chikaya.ma” was established as a digital mechanism for managing citizen grievances. It now serves over 1,745 participating entities, including ministries, regional and municipal councils, public agencies, and state-owned enterprises.
