British digital banking giant Revolut has officially entered the Moroccan market, appointing Amine Berrada as its first country lead.

The former Uber executive will oversee the fintech’s launch and development strategy, marking a key step in Revolut’s broader MENA expansion.

Berrada confirmed the appointment in a LinkedIn post, expressing enthusiasm for introducing Revolut’s services to Moroccan users.

The company, which boasts over 60 million users globally, offers a range of digital financial products, including multi-currency exchange, crypto trading, savings, and investment tools.

The company told Asharq Business it views Morocco as an attractive market, though it remains in early stages of rollout. Backed by major investors such as SoftBank, Revolut is seeking to lead in a still-developing digital banking landscape. Moroccan regulators have shown increasing openness to fintech innovation, aligning with national goals to boost financial inclusion.
