A Royal Moroccan Air Force helicopter successfully carried out a rescue operation on the evening of Thursday, July 17, 2025, saving two French citizens from drowning off the coast of Agadir.

The two individuals, who were aboard a French-flagged sailboat, encountered difficulties in Moroccan territorial waters and issued a distress call. In response, Moroccan rescue teams launched a coordinated search effort involving a patrol vessel from the Agadir Fisheries Delegation and an aircraft operated by the Royal Gendarmerie.

The Royal Moroccan Air Force helicopter intervened promptly and effectively, airlifting the two French nationals to safety. They were immediately transferred to a nearby military hospital, where they received the necessary medical care.
