Six Moroccan referees have been appointed to officiate at the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN), scheduled from August 2 to 30 in Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced Thursday.
The Moroccan officials include two center referees, Bouchra Karboubi and Mustapha Kech Chaf, as well as assistant referee Hamza Nassiri. Three others — Samir Guezzaz, Hamza El Fariq, and Fatiha Jermoumi — will serve as video assistant referees (VARs).
CAF published the full list of 26 center referees, 26 assistant referees, and 18 VAR officials on its official website.
All selected referees will take part in a preparatory course ahead of the tournament, covering both theoretical and practical sessions, in line with CAF protocols and the use of VAR technology.
