A private plane belonging to a Moroccan company was forced to make an emergency landing at Mohammed V International Airport in Nouaceur yesterday, Sunday, after experiencing a technical problem shortly after takeoff from Marrakech. The light aircraft, bound for Palma de Mallorca, Spain, lost one of its wheels mid-flight.

Sources informed Hespress that the limited-capacity plane, carrying only the pilot, co-pilot, and one passenger, encountered a critical situation around 6:50 PM. One of the aircraft’s wheels reportedly exploded and detached shortly after it departed Marrakech-Menara Airport.

Following the incident, the plane circled in Casablanca’s airspace for approximately two hours to dump fuel. This procedure was carried out to prevent potential complications during the emergency landing.

After a tense period in the air, the crew and passenger successfully landed safely at Mohammed V Airport, bringing an end to nearly two hours of close monitoring by air traffic controllers and other officials.
