Morocco’s Treasury placed MAD 13.8 billion ($1.39 billion) in short-term cash surplus investments on Wednesday, according to the Treasury and External Finance Directorate (DTFE).
The bulk of the operation—MAD 12.8 billion—was conducted via a one-day reverse repurchase agreement at a weighted average yield of 1.9%, the Rabat-based DTFE pointed out in a press release.
A second, smaller injection of MAD 1 billion was also executed for one day at a rate of 2.25%, the DTFE added.
The transactions are part of routine liquidity management by the Treasury to optimize the use of temporary cash surpluses and maintain short-term market stability.
