Construction of the Dakhla Atlantic Port is advancing steadily, with the project now 39 percent complete and targeting final delivery by December 2028, ahead of an official inauguration in early 2029.
Overseen by Morocco’s Ministry of Equipment and Water, the port is central to the national vision of transforming the southern provinces into a dynamic maritime and economic hub.
Key technical milestones include 85 percent completion of a 1.3-kilometer sea bridge connecting the mainland to the port basin and 73 percent completion of the Cubipods forming its primary wave-defense barrier.
Berthing infrastructure stands at 20 percent progress, with groundwork for logistics roads and storage zones set to begin.
Round-the-clock construction shifts are ensuring adherence to timelines while maintaining high safety and quality standards. Once operational, the port is expected to enhance Morocco’s maritime infrastructure, strengthen economic activity in the south, and reinforce the kingdom’s role as a strategic logistics gateway to Africa and Europe.
