Monday 2 June 2025 - 23:56

TheInternational Football Federation (FIFA) unveiled the official logo for the U-17 Women’s World Cup on Monday, which will be used for the next five editions of the tournament—all to be hosted by Morocco.

Historic 2025 Edition with 24 Teams

The 2025 tournament will mark a historic milestone as it will be the first time the competition features 24 national teams, up from the previous format. The newly launched branding symbolizes this expansion and evolution of the tournament.

Logo Symbolism and Design

The new logo incorporates the image of the trophy inside the letter “U”, representing the word “Under” in “Under-17” and symbolizing youth and girlhood. According to FIFA’s official website, the design reflects a partnership between FIFA and Morocco aimed at highlighting young female talent who are breaking barriers to pursue their dreams in football.

The logo is described as a dynamic symbol that honors the heritage of the U-17 Women’s World Cup while looking ahead to the future of the women’s game.

Morocco to Host Until 2029

The visual identity will be used exclusively in Morocco through 2029, as the country has been selected to host five consecutive editions of the tournament. This long-term hosting reflects Morocco’s continued investment in women’s football development, which FIFA acknowledges as a model for the global community.

Next Steps

The match schedule for the upcoming 2025 edition will be revealed after the tournament draw, set to take place this Wednesday in Rabat.
