The 2025 Sunergia barometer revealed 81% of Moroccans now use social media, up 8 points since 2020, though growth has slightly slowed since last year.

WhatsApp remains the dominant platform, used by 75% of the population, with 95% of users connecting daily.

Facebook holds second place with 62% of users, followed by Instagram at 42%, which is particularly popular among women and younger users.

YouTube enters the ranking for the first time in 4th place, with 40% usage. TikTok has also grown, reaching 24%. In contrast, Snapchat and Telegram have declined, each used by just 8% of Moroccans.

Despite widespread adoption, a persistent digital divide remains. Nearly one in five Moroccans, especially seniors, rural residents, and lower-income groups, are still offline.
