The General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM) and the International Chamber of Commerce of Kazakhstan (KAZCIC) recently signed a bilateral cooperation agreement on the sidelines of the Astana International Forum 2025.

The agreement primarily aims to establish a Morocco-Kazakhstan Business Council. The goal is to facilitate reciprocal business visits, promote investment opportunities, market access, and direct relations between Moroccan and Kazakhstani companies, according to a press release from CGEM.

This cooperation also aims to identify strategic sectors for cooperation (energy, mining, infrastructure, health, chemical and biotechnological industries, agriculture, digital technology, logistics, and transport), the same source notes.

Both parties share a common interest in strengthening economic cooperation between businesses in Morocco and Kazakhstan, by fostering the exchange of opportunities, investment, and business dialogue.

They also commit to identifying obstacles to trade and bilateral economic cooperation, and to maintaining continuous dialogue with the relevant authorities in both countries in order to propose recommendations for improving the business environment.
