A total of 333 million MAD has been mobilized to rehabilitate 16 communes in Ouarzazate province hit by severe floods in September and October 2024.
Launched under the supervision of Governor Abdellah Jahid, the eight-month program aims to upgrade infrastructure and boost resilience in rural areas.
The initiative, led by the Ministry of the Interior and implemented by Ouarzazate-Aménagement, includes rebuilding 140 km of damaged roads, constructing 96 engineering structures, and restoring key utilities, electricity, water, and sanitation networks.
Beyond reconstruction, the program seeks to enhance spatial and social cohesion by improving access to basic services. It reflects a coordinated partnership between local authorities, the regional development company, and the National Office for Electricity and Water.
Officials say the project marks a commitment to inclusive rural development and sustainable recovery in disaster-prone zones.
