Morocco’s net foreign direct investment (FDI) inflows jumped 63.6% year-on-year to MAD 9.16 billion ($911 million) in the first quarter of 2025, driven by stronger investment revenues and a sharp drop in outflows, according to data from the Foreign Exchange Office.
FDI revenues rose 24.6% to MAD 12.9 billion, while expenditures contracted 20.8% to MAD 3.81 billion, the Rabat-based agency pointed out in its latest monthly foreign trade report.
Meanwhile, Moroccan direct investment abroad slumped 59.5% to MAD 388 million. Outflows fell 22.6% to MAD 4.26 billion, outpacing a 14.8% decline in repatriated revenues, which totaled MAD 3.87 billion.
