Morocco is taking part in a regional congress on digital accessibility that opened Tuesday in Amman, aiming to promote inclusive access to information and communication technologies (ICTs) across the Arab region.
The two-day event, titled “Accessible Arab Region 2025: ICT for All,” is hosted by Jordan’s Telecommunications Regulatory Authority in partnership with the United Nations ESCWA and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). The forum brings together policymakers and experts to explore strategies for bridging the digital divide, particularly for people with disabilities and the elderly.
Morocco is represented by Safaa El Alaoui, Head of the Universal Digital Access Service at the Digital Development Agency, as part of its broader push to advance digital transformation.
Speakers at the congress emphasized digital access as a fundamental right and a key driver of economic and social development.
Sessions are focused on digital accessibility strategies, regional cooperation, and the role of emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence, in promoting a more equitable digital future.
