Cement sales in Morocco climbed 4.5% year-on-year in the first quarter of 2025, reversing a 0.4% drop a year earlier and signaling renewed momentum in the construction sector, according to the Department of Financial Studies and Forecasts (DEPF) under the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
The rebound was led by a 16.8% jump in precast deliveries and an 18.6% surge in ready-mix concrete, DEPF pointed out in its April economic report.
Real estate lending also showed improvement. Outstanding mortgage loans rose 2.7% in the first two months of the year, accelerating from 0.7% in the same period of 2024.
Housing loans grew 2.1%, while financing for real estate developers advanced 6.6% after contracting 0.7% a year earlier.
