Egypt, Jordan, the Sultanate of Oman, Syria, and Iraq announced on Saturday evening that Sunday would be the last day of the holy month of Ramadan for the year 1446 of the Hijri calendar. Consequently, Monday will mark the first day of Shawwal and the celebration of Eid al-Fitr.
In Egypt, Dar Al-Ifta stated that the crescent moon of Shawwal had not been sighted, thereby declaring Sunday as the final day of Ramadan and Monday as Eid al-Fitr.
Similarly, in Jordan, the Grand Mufti of the Kingdom, Ahmed Al-Hasanat, confirmed that Ramadan would be completed on Sunday, with Eid al-Fitr falling on Monday.
Meanwhile, several other Arab countries, including Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Lebanon, and Palestine, have announced that Eid al-Fitr will be observed on Sunday, following the confirmed sighting of the crescent moon.
