Ghana is working toward facilitating visa-free travel for its citizens to Morocco. Samuel Okudzeto, Ghana’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, announced that both countries have agreed to initiate an agreement that would exempt all categories of travelers from visa requirements.

In a post on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Okudzeto stated that the agreement will soon be presented to the parliaments of both nations for ratification. His statement followed discussions held last week with Imane Ouaadil, Morocco’s ambassador to Ghana.

The Ghanaian minister also highlighted commitments made during the talks to deepen cooperation in agriculture, tourism, and security. Additionally, Morocco has decided to increase scholarships for Ghanaian students studying in the country from 90 to 180.

According to Visa Index, Ghanaian passport holders currently require a visa to enter Morocco and must apply before traveling. They also need visas for 123 other countries, while 38 destinations allow them to obtain electronic visas.
