A total of 33,636 families have successfully completed the rebuilding and rehabilitation of their homes, which were either partially or fully damaged by the Al-Haouz earthquake, according to the latest update on the general reconstruction program.
Said Lih, Director General of the Great Atlas Development Agency, shared these figures during a meeting of the interministerial committee overseeing the program, chaired by Aziz Akhannouch on Tuesday. He also reported that 14,463 homes have seen more than 50% of construction completed, while reconstruction efforts are underway in 52,669 homes.
The meeting highlighted the situation of housing in difficult-to-reach areas, with solutions implemented for 4,633 homes across 12 villages. This includes relocating 1,378 families to areas with available land for housing.
Additionally, families whose homes were completely or partially destroyed continue to receive emergency aid, which has been extended for another five months, bringing the total value of the assistance to 2.3 billion dirhams.
