The International Centre for Media and Development Studies, a newly founded institution based at the Higher Institute of Media and Communication in Rabat, has officially launched with the mission of advancing both scientific research and professional development in the realms of media, communication, and development.

The center seeks to become a pivotal force in the academic and professional landscape by fostering a deeper understanding of media-related issues and enhancing the practical skills of those involved in the field.

Through a multifaceted approach, the center will conduct extensive research on a broad range of media and communication topics, with the aim of generating new knowledge and providing insights that can influence both policy and practice.

In addition to research, it will offer specialized training programs designed to equip individuals with critical media skills, while also providing consulting services to governmental and private entities to improve media strategies and performance.

The center will publish its research findings in peer-reviewed scientific journals, contributing to the global academic discourse on media and communication.

The center’s executive team, comprised of a distinguished group of academic experts, professors, professional journalists, and emerging researchers, is spearheaded by Mohamed Abdelwahab Allali as President, with Meryem Ait Belhoussin serving as Vice President. Other key figures include Khadija Boufous as General Secretary and Saber Sehouli as Deputy General Secretary.

By organizing conferences, seminars, and building strategic partnerships with academic institutions and media organizations worldwide, the International Centre for Media and Development Studies aims to position itself as a leader in media and communication, ultimately driving improvements in media practices and fostering the continued development of the field.
