Rachid Talbi Alami, President of the House of Representatives, held productive talks today with Fuad Muradov, Chairman of the State Committee for Work with the Diaspora of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Muradov is visiting Morocco with a high-level delegation to exchange expertise on migration issues.
The discussions, which took place at the House of Representatives in Rabat, focused on the shared experiences of both nations in handling migration and migrant rights. Nazim Samadov, Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Morocco, was also present at the meeting.
Both leaders highlighted the longstanding, solid relationship between Morocco and Azerbaijan, based on mutual respect for territorial integrity and non-interference in each other’s internal affairs. Muradov expressed admiration for Morocco’s humanitarian approach to migration, particularly the policies led by King Mohammed VI that focus on the rights and well-being of Moroccans abroad and migrants in general.
The meeting also underscored the role of Morocco’s legislative body in overseeing migration policies. The Moroccan parliament is actively involved in shaping and evaluating public policies related to migrant rights, asylum, and the broader issues affecting Moroccan expatriates.
In addition, Talbi Alami and Muradov discussed the growing cooperation between the two countries’ legislative institutions, noting the expansion of visits, exchange of experiences, and joint participation in various parliamentary platforms. This collaboration further strengthens the diplomatic and legislative ties between the two nations.
