Spanish authorities at the occupied Ceuta port have arrested a Spanish driver from Cádiz after discovering a truck loaded with approximately one ton of hashish.
The court has ordered the driver to be held in provisional detention at the Mendesábal prison.
According to judicial sources cited by the Faro de Ceuta newspaper, the driver attempted to disguise his cargo by using a truck with a fake lighting company logo in an effort to pass through security checkpoints without raising suspicion.
However, the Spanish Civil Guard, specializing in vehicle monitoring at the port, along with the Risk Assessment and Analysis Unit, were able to uncover the drug smuggling attempt. The authorities successfully identified the operation, leading to the seizure of the illegal drugs and the arrest of the driver.
