These remittances recorded a 0.5% increase, representing a rise of MAD44 million, compared to the end of January 2024.
The latest publication on monthly foreign exchange indicators also highlighted that net foreign direct investment (FDI) inflows exceeded MAD3.23 billion, reflecting a 16.9% rise from the previous year.
Revenues and expenditures related to these investments grew by 24.1% to MAD4.94 billion and 40.4% to MAD 1.7 billion, respectively.
Net Moroccan direct investment abroad increased by MAD812 million, reaching MAD723 million, up from a negative MAD89 million at the end of January 2024. Investment revenues and expenditures rose by 1.7% to MAD1.5 billion and 59.9% to MAD2.23 billion, respectively.
The Exchange Office also reported that aviation sector exports reached approximately MAD2.24 billion by the end of January 2025, marking a 14.2% increase compared to the previous year.
This growth was driven by a 16.2% rise in assembly segment sales to MAD1.42 billion and an 11.2% increase in electrical wiring interconnection system (EWIS) sales to MAD808 million.
Phosphate and derivative exports also rose 10.7% to MAD5.63 billion, including MAD4.27 billion from natural and chemical fertilizers, MAD920 million from phosphoric acid, and MAD442 million from raw phosphate.
Car exports decreased by 10.9%, falling to MAD10.28 billion, due to declines in manufacturing sales (down MAD1.54 billion) and exterior parts (down MAD51 million). This decrease was partially offset by an increase in electrical wiring sales (up MAD121 million).
Exports in the agriculture and food processing sector, as well as the electronics and electrical sector, saw declines of 2.3% (to MAD8.69 billion) and 9.1% (to MAD1.42 billion) respectively. Textile and leather exports in contrast increased by 5%, reaching MAD3.75 billion.
