Authorities in Berkane confiscated a significant quantity of expired and spoiled food during a large-scale inspection operation on Monday, according to sources from Hespress AR.

The regional committee for quality and price control, along with municipal and provincial authorities, National Security officers, and local administrative agents, conducted surprise visits to several shops and unlicensed storage facilities. During the inspections, they discovered food products being sold under unsanitary conditions.

The seized goods were transported in the presence of representatives from the National Office for Food Safety (ONSSA) for disposal. Meanwhile, legal actions have been initiated against the shop owners found in violation of food safety regulations.
