Tensions escalate in Morocco’s health sector with new protest actions
Monday 20 January 2025 - 10:32

Protests in Morocco’s healthcare sector are escalating, with the National Health Sector Collective announcing new nationwide strikes on January 29-30 and February 4-6, 2025.

These actions follow a series of strikes by public-sector doctors and a national demonstration on January 15.

Healthcare professionals are protesting unfulfilled promises and the government’s failure to implement the July 2024 agreement, which aimed to improve working conditions and address staffing issues.

Despite previous attempts to restart dialogue, the lack of concrete action has intensified frustration.

Syndicates accuse the Ministry of Health of neglecting urgent reforms and shifting priorities, leaving workers feeling abandoned.
