King Mohammed VI congratulates Lebanon's Aoun on election

King Mohammed VI sent a cable of congratulations to General Joseph Aoun on the occasion of his election as President of the Lebanese Republic.

In the cable, the King expressed his warmest congratulations to General Aoun, coupled with his best wishes to the brotherly Lebanese people to achieve the progress and development they aspire to, in the context of security, unity and stability.

“As I commend the confidence you have won in this presidential election, I hope that this important national event will constitute a gain for this democratic process and a strong incentive to consolidate the process of reconciliation and harmony among all components of your ancient people and to safeguard its sovereignty and national unity,” the royal cable said.

“I would also like to assure Your Excellency of the Kingdom of Morocco’s solidarity and its permanent support for the Lebanese people, and reiterate my keenness to work together with you to further strengthen the ties of sincere brotherhood and constructive cooperation between our two countries and elevate them to meet the aspirations of our two peoples for further progress and prosperity,” the King added.
