The secretaries-general of the Popular Movement Party, the Liberal Moroccan Party, and the National Democratic Party signed Trusday the founding protocol of a new political alliance called “The Popular Coalition.”

The coalition aims to offer a “popular alternative that meets the aspirations of Moroccans” and restore credibility to the country’s political scene.

The coalition’s platform, outlines 13 key goals across economic, social, political, cultural, intellectual, and linguistic sectors, aiming to represent “a new generation in political and party coordination.”

Key areas of focus include “safeguarding national constants, promoting social peace and economic justice, and ensuring balanced development.”

It also advocates for “reforming political elites, combating corruption, and enhancing transparency.” The platform emphasizes support for people with disabilities, retirees, and strengthening Morocco’s international standing.

The coalition plans to hold regular meetings, establish specialized committees, engage with civil society, and organize political awareness campaigns.

At the signing ceremony in Rabat, Mohamed Ouzine, Secretary-General of the Popular Movement Party, stressed that this initiative “is not about electoral positions but about restoring the nobility of political action.” He noted, “This initiative comes after realizing that politics today is not at its best.”

Khalid Boukkali, Secretary-General of the National Democratic Party, called it a “historic step” that will help “restore trust in political action and create a new political era.” He highlighted the need for a “new political breath” to counter the political vacuum and the random frameworks emerging in the country.

Isaac Charia Secretary-General of the Liberal Moroccan Party, compared the coalition’s efforts to the nationalist leaders of 1934, who united to resist colonialism. He condemned the current political and economic dominance, warning that Morocco’s values are being “mocked on social media.” He added, “This coalition aims to defend national constants and restore dignity to political action.”
