The Ghanaian government has announced that starting January 1, 2025, Moroccan citizens will be able to enter Ghana without a visa.
This decision, reported by the African Press Agency (APA), is part of broader efforts to implement the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), an initiative led by the African Union (AU) to promote greater economic integration across the continent by easing intra-African trade.
By removing visa requirements between Morocco and Ghana, this reform is expected to enhance the mobility of people and goods, which is vital for boosting economic and commercial ties.
With 54 of the 55 African nations now part of the AfCFTA, the initiative aims to create a single market of over 1.3 billion consumers, fostering the free movement of people, goods, services, and investments across Africa.
