Raja Club Athletic announced Friday it has mutually parted ways with Portuguese coach Ricardo Sá Pinto following disappointing results since his appointment earlier this season.
Club officials confirmed the termination came after extensive negotiations, with Sá Pinto agreeing to leave without the payment of a contractual penalty clause. Instead, he will receive two months’ salary as compensation, the club said.
The decision follows a poor run of form, with the team winning only two of 11 matches under Sá Pinto’s leadership, along with three losses and six draws. Raja currently sits seventh in the Moroccan Botola Pro standings with 20 points, following a 2-1 victory Thursday against Union Touarga in a rescheduled Round 13 match.
The club has appointed interim coach Hafid Abdel Sadeq to oversee the team while the search for a permanent replacement is underway.
Raja’s leadership, led by President Adil Halla, has faced increasing pressure from fans after failing to secure consistent results this season.
