Hespress English is proud to showcase the award-winning photograph that earned Mohamed Kraimi, the video department coordinator, the prestigious “Photography” award at the 22nd National Press Awards ceremony.

Published on Hespress’s English site, the striking image was taken in Casablanca and shows an Orthodox Jew holding a sign that reads: “The Jew is not a Zionist.”

The powerful photograph, which reflects the subject’s strong support for the Palestinian cause and opposition to Zionism, received widespread admiration within Moroccan society.

This win marks the first time Hespress has claimed this esteemed award, adding to its long list of accomplishments in online journalism. Kraimi, who was visibly emotional while accepting the award while wearing a Palestinian keffiyeh, thanked his colleagues in the video department and dedicated the achievement to his mother.

In addition to Kraimi’s award, Hespress was also shortlisted for the online journalism award for an article written by colleague Ali Benharrar titled “Cannabis Farmers in Ketama Prepare for Legalization After Amnesty… Land Disputes Continue,” published on August 22.

The 22nd National Press Awards ceremony was held at the historic Chellah site in Rabat, where cultural, media, and political figures gathered to celebrate journalistic achievements.

The Minister of Youth, Culture, and Communication, Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid, remarked that this edition brought a “new breath” to the awards, with updated regulations and new categories to recognize the achievements of regional media and Moroccan journalists working abroad.
