Mohamed Hajoui, the Secretary-General of the Government, announced that 6 new associations were granted public benefit status this year, bringing the total to 250.
Nearly half of these associations work in social services, while others focus on education, culture, healthcare, youth, and scientific research. Hajoui also highlighted that 18 associations received permits to solicit public donations in 2024, up from 23 in the previous year, noting that the Al-Haouz earthquake highlighted Moroccan values of solidarity.
Hajoui reported that 308 associations received foreign aid, including 32 with public benefit status, totaling 1,271 reports and 3,193 foreign donations. The total declared aid rose from 567 million dirhams in 2023 to 800 million dirhams in 2024, partly due to international contributions for earthquake relief.
This aid funded projects in rural infrastructure, healthcare, social services, and environmental protection.
Regarding the licensing of regulated professions, 1,964 licenses were issued in 2024, including those for medical laboratories, architects, and semi-medical professionals. Hajoui also noted an 11.5% increase in the Secretary-General’s budget for 2025, reaching 155 million dirhams, driven by higher payroll costs. Operational expenses grew by 12%, while investment spending remained steady at around 10 million dirhams.
