Spanish customs officials have seized 22 stolen luxury vehicles that were en route to be shipped to Tangier, according to local media reports. The vehicles were intercepted at Tarifa Port by officers from the Fiscal and Border Section.
The luxury cars, reportedly stolen from various European countries, were fitted with counterfeit license plates and documents designed to evade inspections by the Office for Fiscal Analysis and Investigation (UDAIFF).
Among the high-end models recovered were a Porsche 911 Carrera, stolen in Denmark and equipped with fake Swiss plates, valued at approximately €125,000, and an Audi RS6, stolen in Germany, with an estimated worth of €225,000. In total, authorities recovered 16 cars, five motorcycles, and a quad bike during the operation.
Following the seizure, nine individuals suspected of involvement in the thefts were arrested, while an additional seven are under investigation for vehicle theft, receiving stolen goods, and document fraud.
The operation took place in the vehicle inspection area of the Port of Cádiz, where specialized agents conducted thorough inspections and investigations. Reports from the Algeciras Command indicate that the detained individuals and their case files have been handed over to judicial authorities. Meanwhile, the recovered vehicles will be returned to their respective countries for restitution to their rightful owners.
