Bank Al-Maghrib issues new MAD 20 bill for Youth Day
Wednesday 21 August 2024 - 12:00

Commemorating the Fête de la Jeunesse (Youth Day), Bank Al-Maghrib announces the introduction of a new 20 dirham banknote from this Wednesday, August 21, 2024. The new banknote highlights Morocco’s rich architectural heritage and socio-cultural development, as Bank Al-Maghrib points out in a press release.

Showcasing the beauty and splendor of the Kingdom, the front of the banknote features a portrait of King Mohammed VI, the Kingdom’s coat of arms, as well as an architectural motif inspired by Moroccan doors and a stylized view of Al Qaraouiyine University in Fez.

The reverse features artistic representations of the Grand Théâtre de Rabat, the Mohammed VI Museum of Modern Art, the grandstand of a sports complex, and a stylized view of the Aït Ben Haddou Kasbah.

From traditional to modern, the new ticket incorporates the latest in advanced security features, including a color-changing security thread with dynamic effect, an iridescent stripe on the reverse, raised motifs for the visually impaired and progressive numbering.

The entire design and production of this banknote was carried out exclusively by the Moroccan skills of Dar As-Sikkah.
