Casablanca bathhouses closed amidst severe water crisis

Casablanca-Settat authorities have ordered a three-day closure of all bathhouses in the region, beginning on Monday, in response to the deepening water crisis, sources told Hespress.

The decision announced to bathhouse owners on Sunday has caught the industry off guard, leaving little time for preparation.

The closure comes days after King Mohammed VI highlighted the critical water situation in his Throne Day speech, emphasizing the nation’s collective responsibility for water conservation.

In addition to the bathhouse closures, authorities have implemented water-saving measures including restrictions on car washes and reduced water pressure in certain areas.
