The Argentine Football Association has reportedly filed a complaint with FIFA following the events of Wednesday’s Olympic match against Morocco.
Moroccan fans stormed the pitch at the end of the match, which was halted shortly before it was set to end, after Argentina scored a contented equalizer in the 16th minute of stoppage time.
For a long time, it was unclear whether the match had ended or was simply paused. Additionally, the goal that would have tied the game at 2-2 was reviewed for a potential offside using video assistant referee technology two hours after it was scored, and the match was resumed for three minutes.
The Argentine Association has called on FIFA’s disciplinary committee to take action regarding the incident, describing it as a “serious event.”
