A Moroccan court has sentenced a woman to life in prison for the murder of her husband and son in the city of M’Diq. The court of appeal in Tetouan convicted the woman, the main suspect in the case, after a lengthy investigation that spanned over a decade.
The woman’s brother, initially charged as an accomplice, was dropped from the case after his death in March 2023.
The investigation began in 2012 following the disappearance of the woman’s husband. She had initially reported him missing, claiming he had vanished under mysterious circumstances. However, police investigations revealed inconsistencies in her story, leading to her arrest alongside her brother.
Further investigations uncovered the chilling truth: the woman, with her brother’s assistance, had murdered her husband and buried his body in the garage of their home in M’Diq. The remains were later exhumed during the investigation.
