The American Moroccan Skills Network (AMCN) is gearing up for its next medical training mission to Tiznit and Tafraout, Morocco, scheduled for the week of May 6, 2024.
This initiative demonstrates AMCN’s commitment to improving healthcare in Morocco, particularly in rural areas, and is in line with the royal speech on the occasion of the 9th anniversary of the Revolution of the King and the People. In this speech, the Sovereign instructed the Moroccan government and institutions to take advantage of Moroccan Skills Abroad to contribute to Morocco’s development.
The AMCN has fully embraced this directive by mobilizing the expertise of Moroccan professionals residing in the United States for the benefit of their home country.
The training mission will focus on three critical areas: maternal and child health, emergency medicine and gerontology. These sectors play a crucial role in the well-being of Moroccan citizens at all stages of life.
Through interactive workshops, practical demonstrations and knowledge-sharing sessions, AMCN aims to enhance the skills of local healthcare professionals and improve health outcomes in the Tiznit and Tafraout regions.
“We are honored to contribute to the advancement of the healthcare system in Morocco, in line with His Majesty’s vision for the nation”, said Dr. Mohamed Boutjdir, President of AMCN.
He added: “By harnessing the expertise of Moroccan professionals abroad and locally, we can make significant progress in solving health challenges and promoting well-being in communities.
The cooperation between AMCN and Moroccan stakeholders, including Migration et Développement, the Office of the Wali and Governor, the Ministry of Health, the Provincial Council of Tiznit, as well as the Communes of Tafraout and Ammelne, demonstrates the power of partnership in promoting positive change. By sharing knowledge and resources, AMCN and its partners are committed to building a healthier, more resilient future for Morocco.
