Moroccan international Achraf Hakimi takes the lion’s share of the salaries paid to African players in Ligue 1.

Published by L’Equipe newspaper, the ranking shows the Atlas Lion playing for PSG at 738,000 euros gross, followed by OM’s Gabonese Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (650,000 euros) and OM’s Central African international Geoffrey Kondogbia (450,000 euros).

The overall ranking puts Kylian Mbappé at the top, with 6 million euros gross per month. “Just as he dominates the Ligue 1 pitch, where he is top scorer (24 goals), far ahead of his runner-up, Lille’s Jonathan David (15 goals), Kylian Mbappé reigns supreme in the French league,” writes L’Equipe.

The captain of the French national team is ahead of his team-mates Ousmane Dembélé and Marquinhos, who are tied for second place with 1,120,000 euros. “PSG take the top ten places in the top 10”, comments the media.

In the Italian league, Nigerian Victor Osimhen tops the ranking, with an income of 1.5 million euros. In England, Liverpool’s Egyptian international Mohamed Salah earns 1.7 million.
