A nanny in France has been placed under investigation after attempting to poison her employers following their refusal to increase her salary. The family in Levallois-Perret had hired her to look after their three children, aged 3, 5, and 7 years old.

Leila Y., aged 40, was recruited at the end of September, but she felt she was being underpaid. As a result, she decided to poison her employers by pouring Fabulosa, a multi-purpose cleaner, into a bottle of grape juice and several bottles of wine.

During her interrogation, Leila Y. allegedly claimed that she did not intend to harm the children she was caring for, but only her employers who did not value her properly, in order to teach them “a lesson”.
