Moroccan director Kamal Lazraq’s feature film Les Meutes will be previewed on January 29 at the Megarama cinema in Casablanca.

The preview screening of the film, supported industry talent development program ‘Ateliers de l’Atlas’, will be attended by the film’s director and staff.

The debut feature film will be released in cinemas from January 31.

Les Meutes tells the story of Issam and his son Hassan, who survive from day to day in a working-class suburb of Casablanca by committing petty crimes on behalf of the leader of a gang.

Les Meutes won the Jury Prize at the 20th Marrakech International Film Festival (FIFM 2023), tied with Palestinian director Lina Soualem for her film Bye Bye Tibériade.

It also won the Grand Prix at the eighth Brussels International Film Festival, in November 2023, and the Prix du Jury in the Un Certain Regard category at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival.
